LEO!!!!!!!

Who was Leonard Da Vinci? He was of course a painter, but he was so much more then that. There is a label called a "Renaissance Man" which I believe derived from Leonardo Da Vinci. It means a man of many talents. Leonardo was indeed a man of many talents. his most famous works of course include "The Mona Lisa: and "The Last Super":

Both of these painting are easily recognized but just about everyone. many people could tell you who painted the pictures and even what the painting is titled. But Leonardo was more then a painter he was also known for his drawings, his inventions, medicine and so much more.

A glimpse at the note book of Da Vinci. Many scholars and would be artist would love to get a hold of this for help and ideas.

His drawings on the human anatomy have opened the door to modern medicine today. Drawings like this one:

This has lead many people to understand the human body the motion and even its abilities. Leonardo did not stop at drawing the exterior of the human form, he wanted to know more. he continued deeper then the skin to get down to what the human body was all about.Even less known might be Leonardo Da Vinci the inventor. He had help invent military weapons like the three tiered machine gun:
Not to mention his obsession with wanting to fly:So in conclusion Leonardo Da Vinci was a man of many talents, and worth a closer look, and deep study.

  1. I think that last picture is awesome. I didn't know all of that about him until this semester, and even this blog. I just knew him mostly, if not only, as a painter. I wonder what "renaissance men" of our time there are. Nice blog:) and good pics:).
