MCA Vs. DAM

During the course of this class, I had to visit and report on both the Denver Art Museum (DAM) and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA). Here are the pieces I did my presentation on. This first one is from the DAM, it is Daniel Sprick painting entitled Release Your Plans This second one is from the MCA, its a painting from Eric and Heather Chanshcatz and it is untitled portrait of solders in Iraq. Some of the differences between them are, at the DAM I got to see a lot more artist, and a wider variety of art work. While at the MCA there was not to many artist, however; I did learn more about the artists and their work. When I went to the DAM I had to get more information on line, but there was somebody at the MCA that seemed very knowledgeable about the art work. I liked the DAM for its variety and the fact that it had more art that I enjoy, but I like the staffs knowledge at the MCA. If one can find a piece that one likes that person can learn a great deal about it.
